After Robert Rauschenberg won the Grand Prize the today’s seat of WFU in Venice is in the limelight again. American artists Doug and Mike Starn choose Wake Forest University in Venice as venue for their Big Bambú installation, searching for continuity with the 1964 triumph of American art in Venice when today’s WFU seat was an Annex to the American Pavilion and Robert Rauschenberg won the Grand Prize.
