On July 27, 2016, at the intersection of the 500th anniversary of the formation of the Jewish Ghetto in Venice and the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death, a mock appeal hearing was held in Shylock’s case. The judicial panel hearing the arguments consisted of none other than the Honorable U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Wake Forest Law’s Professor Richard Schneider.
